Dr. R. Ashok, MBBS, MD (Accident & Emergency Medicine), FICM, and MBA (Hospital Management), is a senior Emergency and Critical Care Physician with over 20 years of post-MD experience in clinical care, academics, and hospital leadership.

He currently serves as Director – Emergency & Critical Care Medicine and Deputy Medical Director at VIMS Hospitals, Salem. His qualifications include an MD from Sri Ramachandra University, a Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine from Apollo Hospitals, an MBA in Hospital Management, and an Executive Program in Hospital Management from IIM Indore.

He has held leadership roles at institutions including Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Apollo KH Hospitals, Manipal Hospitals, Kauvery Hospitals, and VIMS Hospitals. An internationally recognized BLS, ACLS, and ATLS instructor, he has trained thousands in emergency, trauma, critical care, and life-support training.

A former President of SEMI Tamil Nadu, Dr. Ashok is also an award-winning academician, speaker, examiner, editor, mentor, and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Honorary Fellowship from IMA.
